Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and community leaders from the area honored Heather Klever of Clarissa at a special celebration in Staples on Monday, March 12. Heather was recognized by the Champions of Health Prize Patrol for her involvement with Teenagers Against Tobacco and the Tobacco Cessation Team in Todd County.

Larry Schul of the Clarissa Lions received an award for International Leadership in recognition of his distinguished service to the Clarissa Lions. The Lions International district governor nominated Schul for the award. His fellow Lions honored him on Monday, March 26.

The instrumental music department of Clarissa High School received 19 star ratings at the District 22 contest held on Friday, April 22, at Brandon.

Dorothy Louise Shields, a freshman majoring in nursing at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, has recently pledged her membership into the Beta Chi Sorority. Dorothy graduated from Clarissa High School and is the daughter of Dorris and Cam Shields.
