Last week, sixth graders from Eagle Valley had their graduation from D.A.R.E (Drug Abuse Resistance Education). Clarissa’s Police Chief Jon Barber and D.A.R.E. Instructor Wes Klema taught the class. Pictured is Cassie Snyder receiving her certificate. Stunt Bicycles’ Rich Wieber performed. Candace Young and Kasmira Hess shared their essays on how they felt about the program.

The Rebels Softball Team is hoping to defend their Prairie Conference title this year. They have won three conference championships in a row and four out of the last five. The challenge this year for the young Rebels team is they lost seven seniors to graduation. Returning starters include Jenny Nelson, Heidi Godding, Michelle Holt, and Kali Dickinson.

April 14, 1976
This Saturday evening there will be a ‘first’ in this area as a recording will be made at the Clarissa Ballroom with a local band playing the backup music for the recording. The recording for the record album will be made by George Kent and Jena St. John of Nashville, Tennessee with Ken Christensen and his Eagle Valley Playboys of Clarissa playing the backup music.

Karen Perish was crowned Clarissa’s 1976 Dairy Princess during the Commercial Club dinner held at the Coffee Cup Cafe last Tuesday.
