Larry and Pam Cook had some special visitors over the Clarissa Summerfest weekend. Miriam Holte and her fiance, Ketil Berntzen from Norway, stayed with them for four days. Miriam was an exchange student during the 1994-1995 school year and lived with the Cook family. Miriam and Ketil visited New York first and stayed there for two and a half days and then traveled to Clarissa.

The Clarissa senior citizens had an opportunity to meet and visit with CentraCare doctors who will be practicing at the Eagle Valley Clinic in Eagle Bend. The two doctors, Hans Bjellum and Anand Shah, stopped at the Clarissa Senior Citizens Center on Tuesday, July 24.

August 5, 1976
Lightning struck the Elmer Fragodt home and a tree in their yard at the same time during an electrical storm that engulfed this area last Thursday evening.

A business transaction was completed last week between the Farmers Produce Association and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Holmquist, in which the Holmquists purchased the Co-op Hardware. The Holmquists took possession of the business on Wednesday, August 4, of this week.
