All city employees full and part-time received raises at their annual employee evaluation/wage negotiation, with the exception of Butch Booker who had his sixth month evaluation approved. The three full-time employee’s: Bill Jedlicka, Sue Cuchna and Jon Barber, each received a $100 per month raise and the part-time employees all received a 25 cent per hour raise.

The Clarissa Flyers traveled to New York Mills on Friday night with hopes of winning their way into the Minnesota Amateur Baseball State Tournament for the third straight year. Unfortunately, their opponents, the Nimrod Gnats, had the same hopes and a bit more desire and they sent the Flyers packing 10-8.

August 19, 1976
The Yate’s Softball Team, the men’s summer softball league, received the championship trophy last Thursday evening. The champs downed Bertha by a score of 16 to 4. Members of the team were: Dan Determan, Rick Busch, Mark Sobotka, Wayne Anderson, Jim Baker, Tom Schnettler, Dean Tiegland, Steve Yates, Jack Bain, John Juelke, Bob Cook, Tim Sobotka and Jamie Perna.

The Clarissa Girl’s Barbershop Quartet has been chosen to represent Todd County at the state amateur contest to be held at the Minnesota State Fair. They were selected as the top talent act at the Todd County Fair held in July. Members of the quartet are Debbie Aspengren, Lori Eisenbraun, Ruth Nygren and Lori Anderson. Mrs. Don Bain is the director.
