Long Prairie woman pronounced deceased; Cause of death is self inflicted

According to a report from the Long Prairie Police Department, on Sunday, June 8, authorities responded to the 300 block of 1st Avenue South in Long Prairie for an incident involving a 29-year-old female.

Emergency responders arrived and provided medical assistance. The victim, a 29-year-old female, was transported to CentraCare Long Prairie, where lifesaving efforts were ultimately unsuccessful, and she was pronounced deceased.

The case is still under investigation, but it is showing that the cause of death was self inflicted.

There was a previous arrest of a male, but he was later cleared after the cause of death was discovered.

There may be many more hours of investigation into information surrounding the case. The police department will attempt to keep the community updated about the circumstances associated with the case.

The Todd County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
