Bertha-Hewitt’s Sno-Daze Queen is Andrea Ward and King is Billy Davis.

The dedication and grand opening date for the new addition has been set for February 25 by the Bertha-Hewitt School Board. They were hoping for an earlier date, but because of some problems with the air handling equipment, the heat will not yet be on in the new gym.

75 Years Ago

January 25, 1951

All officers were re-elected to the Bertha Fire Department: F.W. Bottemiller, president; Leonard Hubrig, secretary; Ellsworth Hartung, treasurer; Bill Cary, fire chief; W.K. Bottemiller, 1st Lieutenant. Earl Plautz was accepted as a member of the department. Tentative plans were made to hold the second annual Fireman’s ball the first Monday after Easter.

An informal program by the beginner’s band of the Bertha School will be presented January 30 in the high school auditorium at 8 p.m. Clarence Lindvall is the director and forty-four students are members.
