Members of the Bertha-Hewitt Drama Club performed their contest one act play about Bobby Fisher on Friday at the Bertha-Hewitt School for both the elementary and high school. They performed for the contest on Saturday at the sub-section level.

Ruth Neil, grade 10, daughter of David and Ann Neil (formerly of Bertha) won the Millennium Youth Challenge Writing Contest and received a $100 savings bond.

James Hartman was elected president of the Bertha Township Farm Bureau Unit. Other officers are: Claire McIntire, vice president; Oliver Larson, secretary; Walter Sjobeck, treasurer; and Mrs. James Hartman, reporter.

Superintendent David Brown of the Hewitt School was elected secretary of the Minnesota Small School Association at its meeting held at Hancock. Several educational resolutions were also adopted for the smaller schools.
