The May 14 meeting started off with Dale Schaefer’s maintenance report. Schaefer said that a manhole has shifted four inches right off its base at the north end of Third Avenue SE. It needs to be dug up and reset.

On Wednesday, May 9, the honor awards ceremony was held. Stacy Denny, daughter of Gene and Mary Denny of Hewitt, was the recipient of the Baush and Lomb Honorary Science Award which goes to the top science student.

January 11, 1951
Reverend Donald Erdman of Rochester is the new minister at the Evangelical and United Brethren Churches of Hewitt and Wrightstown. He replaces Reverend Delmont Gody. Reverend Erdman is married and has one child.

There will be free movies and Hewitt stores will be open Wednesday nights this summer.
