Man Accused of Coercing Underage Girl into Sexual Act

According to court documents, Gordon Lee Coffelt Jr., 30, of Grey Eagle, is facing serious charges, including two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The first charge alleges that Coffelt engaged in sexual penetration with a victim aged between 14 and 15 while being more than 24 months older. The second count claims he used coercion to engage in sexual penetration with a victim under 18. Each of these felony charges carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine.
Additionally, Coffelt is charged with providing alcohol to a person under 21—a gross misdemeanor that can result in up to 364 days in jail and a $3,000 fine.
On July 28, the Todd County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a mother who said her daughter, referred to as AV and aged between 14 and 16, disclosed inappropriate behavior involving Coffelt. A deputy arrived at AV’s home in Burtrum to take her statement...
