Major, a German Shepherd K-9, who has spent most of his life serving and protecting Todd County citizens will officially retire Friday, October 16. The dog, who has won many trophies and awards for his performance on the job and in competitions, has been a member of the Todd County Sheriff’s Department law enforcement teams for eight years, working with deputy sheriff Terry Bandemer.

Iten and Heid Inc. will soon be installing new tile in the Clarissa Liquor Store. The city council voted to accept the Iten and Heid bid of $619 for the project.

October 14, 1948
The Browerville Tigers six man football team will clash with Clarissa, traditional rival, on Wednesday, October 20, in the first night game of six man football in Todd County. The kickoff is set for 8 p.m. under the lights of the Long Prairie athletic field.

The Browerville Commercial Club held its first meeting of the fall season last Thursday evening at the city hall. About 30 members were in attendance and took part in discussion about various business matters. A very nice lunch was served by Mr. and Mrs. Ole Iten of the Qualitee Inn.
