Work is progressing quickly on the new church being constructed on the south side of the former hospital site at the Sisters of the Society of St. Pius X novitiate. It will be almost as large as Christ the King Church. According to John Gagnon, who presented the novitiate’s plans to the Browerville City Council, the novitiate is undertaking the construction, mainly ‘to give the sisters a place of prayer’.

Students at Christ the King School designed and constructed their own kites to fly all together on the playground as a Millennium celebration.

April 27, 1950
The annual school election to elect school board members will be held at the Browerville High School auditorium on Tuesday, May 16. The terms of two present members expire. They are Joseph F. John and Peter Plotnik. Filings for the positions may be made with Clerk J.D. Schenk any time up to and including May 4. There is no charge for filing.

The local American Legion Post No. 293 held their regular meeting last Wednesday evening at the local depot. The following officers were elected for the coming year: Donald Motzko, commander; Herman Holler, vice commander; Ed Zins, adjutant; and Ray Wodarz, finance officer.
