Candace Buhl of Browerville High School worked as an intern at State Representative Mary Ellen Otremba’s office this legislative session. Otremba offers her own intern program for high school students every session.

Athletic Director Gary Graham presented 1989 graduate Andrew Jacobson with a plaque honoring him for his athletic prowess while he was a student at Browerville. The plaque will be on display in the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Andrew excelled in a number of sports, including football, basketball, baseball and track.

Miss Marjorie Schenk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schenk, has earned the highest scholastic average of 97.3 percent for her four years of high school work, thus placing her as Valedictorian of the graduating class of 1950. Before attending the local high school, Marjorie graduated as Valedictorian of the St. Joseph’s parochial school.

Memorial Day Services will be ushered in with an appropriate program which will begin at the high school auditorium at 9:30 a.m. on May 30 after which all shall proceed to the Catholic Cemetery to complete honors to those who have fallen in defense of our country. In charge of the arrangements for the program are Peter Kiselewski, commander of the American Legion Post No. 293 and Leo Steinmetz, commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
