Nichole Tyrrell, 20, daughter of Dennis and Cheryl Tyrrell of Browerville, Todd County, was crowned the Region 4 Dairy Princess at ceremonies held June 14 in Long Prairie. Counties included in Region 4 are Benton, Morrison and Todd.

The U.S. Bank High School Award is presented to one graduating senior at high schools in Minnesota communities served by the U.S. Bank. The award consists of a $250 cash gift and an inscribed certificate. Brent Lieser has earned high honor status at Browerville and has been actively involved in athletics and school activities. He is an active member of his church and in the community. Brent is the son of Steven and Doris Lieser of Browerville.

June 22, 1950

The stage at Browerville’s new high school auditorium was the scene of a very striking and thrilling affair on Tuesday evening, June 20. What was this? Why the coronation of the Dairy Princess and her two attendants to be sure! Marian Jukubik was introduced first as the winner of third place. Corine Pelava was introduced as the second place winner. Then came the main event, Rita Gaida was escorted to the mic and proclaimed to all as the Browerville Dairy Princess.

After several weeks of hard work in preparation by the various committees of the Browerville Commercial Club, the third annual Dairy Day held on Tuesday, June 20, was a huge success in all ways. It is planned to continue this as an annual affair. The largest crowed ever to attend a celebration in this village was in town to enjoy the day. A big carnival provided fun and excitement for the kiddies. Races, games and rides were also enjoyed immensely, as was the largest merry-go-round in the northwest, which was available for the kids’ entertainment.
