With the lateness of the growing season, it hardly seems possible that fair time is upon us, but advertisements throughout the county are announcing the dates of Todd County’s biggest summer festival, the Todd County Fair, to be held at Long Prairie, August 8, 9 and 10. Only the finishing touches remain to have the grounds ready for the 66th annual showing of the fair. The management this year is looking forward, weather permitting, to the most successful fair in Todd County history.

The Browerville OTW league baseball team defeated Eagle Bend in a twilight game last week Wednesday 18-2. The local boys drew quite a few bases on balls and collected ten safe hits. This game saw two new faces in the lineup. Ronnie Wolters at third base and Donald Lemm at second base. Archie Mace and Robert Jonckowski pitched two hit ball for the locals. The boys from Eagle Bend started Cossentine. He held the locals to four hits and four runs but was taken out in the sixth inning. The nicest play of the evening was Jim Nalezny’s running one-handed catch in the eighth inning.
