December 28, 2000
Seven Browerville students led a training for 40 area high schools students at the Browerville Community Center. Kalie Becker, Lindsey Dickinson, Kelly Hudalla, Kim Hynnek, Bevin Smeija, Shanda Stracek, and Pokie Zellgert have been tobacco prevention advocates for the last couple of years. Together they led a Teens Against Tobacco Use (T.A.T.U.) Training.

At their December 19 meeting, commissioners combined County Highway 27, County Road 90 and a 2.8 mile Hartford Township Road and renamed this section County Highway 5. Victor Kurpiers of the Hartford Town Board thought that some changes in these roads should have been implemented in May of 1999. A resolution passed by commissioners in January of 1999 stated that the county would assume jurisdiction for a small section of the township road.

December 28, 1950
The Browerville Community Sportsman’s Club met at the city hall on Tuesday evening of last week for their regular monthly meeting. The following officers for the coming year were elected: Al Poplinski, president; Richard Irsfeld, vice president; Robert Bentz, Sr., treasurer; Leo Sadlo, secretary, and J.F.R. John, director, for three years.

August T. Arbeiter, of Browerville, has been promoted by the United States Air Force from the rank of Private to Private First Class. He is now on duty with the 510th Aircraft Artillery Operations Detachment as an aircraft warning specialist at Ladd Air Force Base, Alaska, America’s farthest north major military installation.
