Last year’s junior class did an excellent job decorating for the 2000 Prom. After many hours of hard work, the high school gym was transformed into our own “Underwater Paradise.” Magnificent fish, rocks, shells, and seaweed decorated the underwater world in the colors of blue, teal, and purple. Columns of seahorses flanked the couples as they walked through a sparkling curtain. A beautifully painted mural of lost treasures and water creatures covered one wall. Following the prom, Mrs. Emery and Mrs. Hagenson, co-advisors, decided to enter the theme in a nationwide decorating contest sponsored by Anderson’s Prom catalog. This fall they received the letter commending them on their fourth place finish and received a prize of $50, which was used for a pizza and ice cream party. A picture will be in the 2001 Anderson’s catalog.
