The 2001 Todd County Dairy Princesses were crowned on Saturday evening at a banquet held in Clarissa. The princesses are Katrina Ann Ahrens, Sonja Stoterau and Brenda Becker. Todd County Dairy Ambassadors are: Rhonda Lee Brekke, Melissa Wiese, Brandy Bruder and Jill Walburn. The princesses will now compete at the regional level.

The roof on the Todd County Highway Department maintenance shop in Staples has county commissioners concerned about safety. “The main beam is cracking. It’s not safe to put anyone up there to shovel snow off,” said Commissioner Stan Sumey. He suggested bracing the roof to keep it from caving in. County equipment such as a truck and a new grader are now being stored with the city’s equipment.

Browerville’s Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual Easter Dance at the Knotty Pine Coliseum, on Highway 71, one-half mile south of Browerville, on Monday evening, March 26. Serving on the arrangements committee are: Robert T. Bentz, chairman; Louis Gimpl, Louis Woell, Eli Lucas and Urban Wrobel.

Mrs. George Tronsrue, of Long Prairie, has been named Todd County Probate Judge to fill the vacancy which occurred after the death of her husband. The appointment was announced recently from the office of Governor Youngdahl who made the choice from a number of people who were interested.
