A group of town people from the community will be going to Haiti as part of the Haiti Outreach Program. While in Haiti, the group will take part in the construction of a new 20x20 foot home that will house a family of six. To make the trip possible, $10,000 had to be raised to send the group, and an additional $1500 was raised to be used for material to construct the home. The house will consist of a brick foundation with an adobe type structure. The group will be leaving Browerville on April 9, and will return on April 18. An explosive device found by a rural mail carrier in the mailbox of a Todd County deputy sheriff last Thursday was disarmed by the Crow Wing County Bomb Squad. An investigation by Todd County deputies continues, with assistance from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the FBI. The Postal Service is offering a $100,000 reward for information in the case. Authorities would not say what kind of a device was found or where it was found. Deputy Terry Bandemer said Monday morning that they are following up on rumors and leads. No suspects were in custody. The sheriff is warning all citizens to report any unusual packages in their mail.
