The Knights of Columbus, Cardinal Neuman Council 3663, is part of a world wide organization of Catholic men who work to make Christ known to the world by serving the pro-life and mentally handicapped causes. This local council which operates under the auspices of Christ the King Church includes the men of Clarissa. Joe Buhl, Grand Knight, and his uncle, Roy Buhl, steer the course of the Christ the King Knights and have been active since 1954.

A steady stream of visitors went though the line at the potluck dinner that was held in conjunction with Zion Lutheran Church’s open house and new addition dedication that was held on Sunday morning.

Being indoctrinated into the traditions and color of Naval life is Robert F. Progreba, seaman recruit, USN, of Browerville, son of Mrs. Alma Progreba of this village, who is receiving his first military instruction at the Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Ill., under the Navy’s recruit training program.

Eight one-act plays and 10 musical numbers were presented at the Long Prairie 4-H play and music festival on Tuesday evening, April 17, with approximately 650 in attendance. The Hustlin’ Rustics’ play was the top play and the Reynolds Gophers’ musical was the top musical in the event.
