25 Years Ago

August 31, 1995

After years of hard work and some fun, too, five Browerville girls were honored Sunday night with a reception and program at the new community center. The girls were Erica Jonckowski, Christianne Oven, Gina Oven, Kameron Schorn and Stephanie Zigan and they received the Gold Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Girl Scouts.

On August 20, Roger Weske marked 25 years with the Browerville Ambulance crew. Roger joined the crew in 1970 and is the only member of the original group still actively serving. Roger said that it has been a tremendously rewarding experience, but very stressful.


75 Years Ago

September 1, 1945

Last week the Farmerā€™s Co-op Creamery Association gained possession of Masonickā€™s Garage building conveniently located on the opposite corner from the creamery. The building has been used to house the creamery trucks for the past year and was also found convenient to store other commodities used in connection with the creamery.

After Joseph F. John completed the outdoor fireplace, a neighborhood project erected on the back lawn at the John Gaida home, a garden party and wiener roast was held last Sunday evening as an initial try out.
