“I keep telling people I want to become a Walmart greeter”, said Bowerville Postmaster Chuck Jesinoski, who will retire October 1 after 32.5 years with the postal service. With a hint of sadness, Jesinoski stated that he will miss all of the P.O.’s customers and employees something terrible.

The 2001 Homecoming Coronation was held on Monday evening at the high school. The 2001 king and queen are Joel Lieser and Lindsey Dickinson. The royal court: Lewis Noska, David Determan, Joseph Brusven, Jared Krog, Joel Lieser, Lindsey Dickinson, Kelly Spandl, Paulette Oven, Nicole Motzko and Larissa Thielen.

Todd County’s goal in the national defense bond drive, which has gotten underway this month, is $70,000, Frank L. King, county defense bond chairman, announced Monday. While the drive has gotten underway in September and considerable national advertising has been conducted, individual solicitation will begin October 1.

For three quarters the Tigers held the Clarissa Pirates at bay, then the roof fell in and Clarissa scored four times in the fourth quarter to bring about a 42 to 25 victory. It was a seesaw battle for the first half with Browerville coming in at the half with a 15 to 12 lead, mostly through the hard running of Monnie and Gorman’s passes.
