25 Years Ago

March 28, 1996

Committee member Joe Buhl and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Roy Buhl, presented the Allen Dreher family with $2100 worth of savings bonds at the American Heritage National Bank on Tuesday. The money was raised for the Jamie Dreher fund at a benefit held at the Clarissa Ballroom. Pictured were, Allen Dreher, Shelly Dreher, Jamie Dreher, Joe Buhl and Roy Buhl.

Misty Shutter, Browerville, visited with State Senator Dallas Sams (District 11). Misty had an opportunity to visit the capitol due to her involvement in Project 120, an Institute of Learning and Teaching program. The project brings high school students from Minnesota for week-long sessions at the capitol during the legislative session.


75 Years Ago

March 30, 1946

Joe Poplinski, with a half interest in the store building now occupied by Peterson-Biddick Co. on Main Street in Browerville, this week purchased the remaining half interest in the building from Jos. Kulick. He is now the sole owner.

At the regular meeting of the board of education of the Browerville Public School, among other matters of interest to the school, was the election of teachers for the next year. All members of the present faculty were re-elected with increases in salary being voted for both the grade school and high school teachers.
