Pirates struggle through tough week

The Verndale Pirates fell to their Park Region Conference foe, the New York Mills Eagles 42-58 on Friday, February 17.

Initially, the game was close, but the Pirates missed some lay-ups and offensive putbacks. New York Mills was able to convert as they shot 42% from the field, while Verndale shot 34%.

The Eagles outsized the Pirates and scored 32 points in the paint. The Pirates did force 16 Eagles turnovers. . .
