Raiders Head to Break at 12-5

The final week of the first half started with BHVPP traveling to Pine River on Tuesday for a Triangular with Osakis and the host Road Crew. First up were the Silverstreaks, as the Raiders got things rolling and took care of business, winning the first eight matches, highlighted by two ranked wins, to put the dual out of reach before Osakis could get on the board. We picked up a forfeit in one of the final five matches to seal the deal 44-20.
The nightcap also saw the Raiders come out of the starting gate strong. This time, winning the bottom five weights for a 24-0 lead. The Road Crew cut the deficit to 24-7 with back-to-back wins before the Raiders took three of the next four bouts to solidify the win. The host team took the final two matches, and BHVPP headed home with a 37-21 victory. The individual match results were as follows:

The Raiders finished off the week at Pierz with Duals on Friday and the Middle School Christmas Clash on Saturday. The opening round of duals was against the eighth-ranked host team, a back-and-forth battle featuring many good matches. The Raiders picked up back-to-back tech falls to take a 10-0 lead. We swapped decisions to make it 13-3. Then the Pioneers went on a three-match streak with a decision and two tech falls to take the lead 16-13. BHVPP regained the lead 17-16 with a major decision before Pierz ran the table in the final five bouts for the 42-17 win...
