The final week of the season had the Raiders head south to Olivia for the final tune-up before Sections. BHVPP squared off against ACGC in the first round in what was a very competitive dual. Adam Grabow opened the scoring with a quick fall. Ruger Oyster and Isaiah Duberowski each earned hard-fought decisions to double the score 12-0. Merrick Hoffman added a quick fall, and Wyatt Jares claimed a decision for the 21-0 lead. The Falcons got on the board with a decision in front of a Hudson Truax fall for the 27-3 advantage. ACGC picked up three matches in a row to narrow the gap to 27-15. Tanner Schulke finally put the dual away with a decision at 189 as two sixes for the Falcons closed out the match at 30-27 Raiders.
The middle leg of the evening had the Raiders paired up against the host Warriors. Once again, a quick start added up. Oyster with a tech and Grabow with another fall to make it 11-0. BOLD picked up six at 121 before the Raiders rolled to put the dual away. Hoffman and Truax put up tech falls while Logan Becker, Landen Nistler, Preston Captain, and Gage Barthel secured falls in the six-match streak, making it 45-6. The Warriors would get sixes in three of the final four bouts, but Oliver Willis’ pin at 215 made the score final at 51-24.
GSLLP would be the final round of the night, and the recipe for the first two duals was used again. Oyster, Grabow, and Becker with falls while Duberowski and Hoffman techs gave the Raiders a 28-0 lead through the bottom five weights. Hudson Truax picked up a tech fall sandwiched in between two sudden victory defeats for the Raiders. The Panthers would take four of the final five bouts, but the lone Raider win, a major decision for Schulke, secured the dual 37-27. The Raiders’ 3-0 evening improved BHVPP to 20-11 on the season. They will host the Section 6A Dual tournament in Bertha this Friday, February 13th, starting at 3 pm as the #3 seed in what looks to be a very competitive section. We hope to see you there...
