Raiders Stack Up Qualifiers at Section 6A East Sub-Section Meet

The Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale boys track and field team turned in several strong performances at the MSHSL Section 6A East Sub-Section meet held Thursday, May 21, at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Secondary School.

Senior Brady Rach led the Raiders with a first-place finish in the 800-meter run, clocking a season-best 1:56.39 to qualify for the next round. Gunnar Barthel also qualified in the event with a personal-best time of 2:06.79, while Jakub Stovicek added a personal-best 2:11.82.

The Raiders dominated the 3200-meter run, claiming the top two spots. Senior Henry Lockwood won the event in 10:24.04, while eighth grader Nolan Rach finished second in a personal-best 10:24.82.
