Recognizing fallen veterans

Memorial Day was a time to remember those that came before us and served this country.

Many people headed to a cemetery and marked the graves of veterans with American flags to honor and show our respect and appreciation for their service.

Some of the graves have various markers designating their veteran status. And some are marked with an obelisk that some of us may not even know what it stands for.

The Friday morning prior to Memorial Day, Wayne Uberto and Bill Kern set forth in the Hewitt Cemetery to place flags for the fallen. . .
