It’s been said that “You can’t go home and teach.” The Eagle Valley teaching staff presently has nine who are former students of the Clarissa or Eagle Bend public schools. Six are teaching at Eagle Valley Elementary in Clarissa and three are at the high school in Eagle Bend. Curt Gjerstad, Lesa (Ziegenhagen) Asfeld, Lonna (Rachuy-Stevenson) Olson, Tania Cook, Wanda (Wendel) Hommerding, Dianne (Krause) LaVoie, Dave Sobotka, Jill (Beach) Lubben and Gloria Christensen came home to teach.

On Monday, November 3, the Eagle Valley FLA traveled to Staples to attend the Fall Regional Meeting. The meeting was held for all the members of the Region 6 area. They attended special sessions to learn about the different things FLA is about. There was a speaker who talked about being yourself and to always do the smart thing. He later entertained with his band. There were 11 members that made the trip. Pictured are: Amanda Crider, Christine Kunerth, Amy Stone, Beth Blombeck, Julia Moen, Becky Schnettler, Jeff Sovich, Amber Benning, Luke Swanberg and Advisor Mrs. Kathy Mittag. Not pictured: Josh Crider and Charlie Kuhnau.

Eagle Bend School students will have an opportunity to take good long looks at original works of art created by Artist in Residence Patrick Redmond. Under a newly developed plan, Redmond will display a different example of his work each week in a location near the school’s cafeteria where most students will find it convenient for viewing.
