Approximately 100 people gathered to celebrate the 25th “Silver” Anniversary of the Eagle Bend PTA-PTSA last Tuesday night, April 23, in the high school music room. Past and present members shared in the reminiscing of events that occurred during the life of the PTA. Mrs. Bonnie Engebretson and Mrs. Mola Smith acted as hostesses and welcomed all who came and handed out special name cards. During the program each charter member and each past president present introduced themselves and shared a highlight they remembered.

The Eagle Bend Fire Department answered three fire calls in the past few days, according to Leonard Cossentine, local fire chief. On Sunday, May 5, they were called to the Richard Anderson farm. A tractor being repaired in the garage caught fire destroying both the tractor and garage. On Monday, May 6, the fire department responded to a call to the Eldon Maland farm to extinguish a grass fire. On Tuesday, May 7, the call was to the James Tuma farm. An apparent short in the switch box caused the insulation to melt away from the wiring and drop to the floor landing on some loose hay. Due to the quick response, the barn did not catch fire.
