News from Eagle Bend's Past

July 14, 1999

Anthony and Austin Murch recently took a commercial flight to Orlando, Florida. It was their first trip to Florida and unlike many of their fellow passengers, they were not headed for Disneyland. Anthony and Austin were enroute to pick up a Cherokee 140 at a little grass airstrip north of Orlando and fly it back to Central Minnesota. That doesn’t sound too unusual, except Anthony is 18 and Austin is 16. They are the sons of Tom and Brenda Murch of Eagle Bend.

Charlie Woida spread dirt at the Eagle Bend Lion’s hockey rink in an attempt to seal the rink bed to hold water for ice this coming winter. Sounds kind of early for the season, but hockey season is just around the corner for some fans and athletes.
