The Eagle Bend Farm and Lumber may be the oldest family-owned and operated business in Todd County. Its present owners, Dale and Denise Olson and daughter Jessica, are the third and fourth generations of Olsons to operate the business. The history of the farm and lumber business dates back to 1946 when Dale’s grandfather, Oscar A. Olson, and Jennings Hukriede purchased the former implement company. They renamed it the Eagle Bend Farm Supply.

The 2000 Todd County Farm Family of the Year is Walt and Mary Ann Ehnes of Eagle Bend. With their two grown sons, Kevin and Kirk, Walt and Mary Ann enjoy riding their favorite horses and reflect on their successful farming career. Before retiring, Walt and Mary Ann raised and milked registered jerseys. Now they help their sons raise more than 100 head of Buelingo beef cattle, and raise crops of wheat, corn, sunflowers, soybeans and quality hay. The family also has a trucking operation that hauls farm commodities.
