As part of the Older American Month observance in May, the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Eagle Bend Nutrition Service Inc. sponsored the annual contest for sixth graders on the topic “My Grandparents” or “My Best Older Friend”. Winning essays were sent to the Minnesota Board on Aging for statewide judging. The winners will be awarded a memorable trip to the State Fair where they will be honored during the Senior Citizen’s Day activities. Congratulations to Brenda Crider on being selected for membership in the 1974-75 Minnesota All State Choir. Brenda has been selected out of a record number of students who auditioned for this year’s group. The District 22 auditions for All State Choir and Band were held at Eagle Bend and Sauk Centre high schools. Both the All State choir and band should be outstanding performing groups this year.
