Abby Weber, a 2000 graduate of Eagle Valley High School, received the U.S. Bank High School Award on May 27. Abby is the daughter of Debra Weber of Eagle Bend. Abby was chosen for this award for her outstanding character, being an excellent student and for always being energetic and positive and her desire to excel in all that she does.

At the June 12 meeting of the Eagle Valley School Board, the resignation of Phil Carlson was accepted. Carlson, a math teacher and coach, has accepted a similar position at the Sauk Rapids High School. Carlson’s lengthy letter of resignation commended those who have supported the local school, it students and teachers, and recapped the progress made while he was employed by the district.

June 26, 1975
The Eagle Bend VFW baseball team split a double-header with the Ashby American Legion team last Friday. The Eagles won the opener 2-1 while losing the night cap 7-0.

Each year, many people in the area call the vocational ag department for part-time or odd job help. The FFA has developed a lot of members interested in jobs. People could clip out the list of names in this week’s paper and save it for future reference.
