Local Artist Nikki Nordstrom has never before painted a mural—she’s never even taken an art class. But last week, behind the Cyber Bugs Paradise Cafe in Bemidji, she started transforming a wood and concrete wall into a beautiful sea mural. Working entirely freehand, the 17-year-old is painting only from memories and photographs of a time she spent diving in Belize and Mexico.

Everyone is invited to attend the Eagle Bend/Eagle Valley Community Variety Show. It will be held at the Eagle Bend High School auditorium beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday evening, June 30. Numerous musical acts, story tellers, the danceline and others will be performing. It promises to be an evening you will never forget!

July 3, 1975
Mrs. Robert Cuchna of Clarissa was elected president of the Todd County Unit of the American Cancer Society at their annual meeting in Long Prairie recently. Mrs. Cuchna headed a delegation of nine Todd County Women during the annual Cancer Society workshop for volunteers which was held Thursday and Friday, June 26-27, at Madden’s Resort complex north of Brainerd on Gull Lake.

The Iona Rockbusters are in sole possession of first place in the Todd County 4-H Softball league after the second week. A-1 and Golden Gate are tied for second place while Greenwood and Little Sauk Bluejays round out the league standings in last place.
