Kermit and DeVona Olson were selected to be the grand marshals for the Eagle Bend parade on July 1. It will be the second time in 46 years the couple has been the center of attention as they made their way down Main Street. On June 28, 1954, George Wedner and his oxen-drawn covered wagon transported the happy newlyweds up and down the street.

Nancy Beach, the daughter of Roger and Virginia Beach, received her bachelor of science in a nursing degree on May 22 at the University of Minnesota. Nancy is a 1995 graduate of Eagle Valley High School. She has taken a position as an R.N. at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis.

July 10, 1975
The U.S. Postal Service is seeking bids for a postal facility in Eagle Bend. The new building will contain an interior of 1,872 square feet, a platform with 120 square feet, and a driving, parking and maneuvering area of 2,500 square feet. It will be leased by the Postal Service for 10 years with four renewal options of five years each.

Chuck Moller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Moller of rural Eagle Bend, competed in the A.A.U. Central U.S.A. National Championship in Omaha, Nebraska from June 20-22. Not only did Chuck compete, but he also won his 148 pound weight class and came home a national champion.
