The Eagle Bend Library was a dangerous place to be on Thursday afternoon, November 16. All kinds of wild animals were seen, including a pair of lions stalking the aisles. Animal Tamer Barb Lantis had the situation well under control. Lantis, the Children’s Service Coordinator for the Great River Regional Library, was hosting a Pet Roundup and story hour for children ages 3 to 7. Each of the children brought their favorite stuffed animal that they held during the stories and the short movie that was shown.

Eagle Valley volleyball awards went to: Rhonda Brekke, All Conference Player; Tabitha Denny, All Conference, Rebel Serving Award, Rebel Award; Heidi Godding, Conference Honorable Mention, Rebel Most Improved; Heidi Korfe, Conference Honorable Mention, Rebel Offensive Player; Jenny Nelson, All Conference, Rebel Most Valuable Player, Rebel Defensive Player, Rebel Setting Award.

Starting next week, the Eagle Bend News and the Bertha Herald will become one paper. The move was announced today by the publishers of both papers, Clay Publications. The papers will be basically the same as now, only news items from both towns will appear in one paper. The Clays also noted that the newspaper for both Eagle Bend and Bertha will be the called The Northern Todd Review. Also, keep in mind the subscription will remain the same, $3 in county and $3.50 out of county.

The volleyball season at Eagle Bend has officially come to an end with the girls being declared runners-up in the Region 6 volleyball tournament held at Sauk Centre in November. The winner of the tournament was Breckenridge with a 2-1 victory over the Eagles.
