News from Eagle Bend's Past
November 29, 2000
As soon as all the paperwork is complete, the city of Eagle Bend will be a little larger thanks to the annexation of several properties abutting the city to the south. Several of the landowners who were to be annexed were at the hearing and raised questions about their taxes. The main question was would their taxes be more if part of the city. The consensus was yes, but that the benefits would be much more. Landowners were told they would pick up most of the cost of putting water and sewer to their properties and the city would pick up a portion of the cost.
