What was once a dream is becoming closer to a reality! The recreational park, a project of the Eagle Bend Area Development Corporation (EBADC), has taken a giant leap forward in the past few weeks. Chairman Tammy Schlichting briefly gave a recap of the Greater Staples Hospital’s foundation dinner. A check for $6250 was presented towards the Eagle Bend project. Another $6250 was pledged when the EBADC raised $12,500.

On Wednesday, February 21, the Eagle Valley seventh and eighth grade boys basketball teams took on their parents in a good-natured scrimmage. They enjoyed a potluck dinner also.

A lot of hard work is in store for the Eagle Bend girls track team and Coach Judy Wandersee and Assistant Coach Gay Lowth before they travel to Moorhead State University for the Dragon Invitational meet on March 20. The Eagles have eleven veterans returning from the Prairie Conference championship team. They will be joined by 12 newcomers.

The kindergarten students invited their fathers or grandfathers to a Valentine’s party on February 12. Each child greeted their father or grandfather at the door, gave them a Valentine, and enjoyed a little lunch together.
