There is a place for local teens to gather—the teen center in Eagle Bend. The Spot has been in existence since 1989 when a dedicated group of parents, educators and clergy were instrumental in getting the teen center started. An advisory board consisting of eight adults and 22 students was formed. Financial assistance was provided by several organizations in Eagle Bend and Clarissa. With adult supervisors, the teen center is open Friday and Saturday nights, giving the youth a safe, chemical-free place to congregate.
