The eighth graders from Eagle Valley constructed solar systems that are required as a graduation standard project. Along with the solar systems they had to prepare a report using the scientific method. They had to have an introduction, hypothesis, data, conclusion a minimum of two questions that they formulated and further investigation to prove the project if they had more time to follow up on it. The judging was done by upperclassmen and staff members. First place was Kimberly Hauer.

Once again, Eagle Bend has a restaurant on its Main Street. Sir Anthony’s Restaurant reopened early Sunday morning, March 4, operated by its previous owners, Tony and Marian Massmann. They had operated the restaurant for several years until selling it about three years ago to Mike Sublet. During his ownership, he closed it to operate a cafe in Staples, leaving the building to stand empty for over a year.
