News from Eagle Bend's Past

Joseph Harren, Kayla Salathe, Katie Asfeld, Trevor Ahrendt and Justin Smith, students at Eagle Valley School, participated in the regional Math Masters of Minnesota Challenge at Osakis High School on May 4. The team’s advisor/coach is Mr. Jenkins. Thirty-five teams of students competed individually as teams on eight sets of mathematical problems in this competition.

Bonnie Stoecker, Stacey Berg and Heidi Godding, 2001 graduates of Eagle Valley High School, each received a $500 “Best of the Class” scholarship from Alexandria Technical College. Heidi was accepted in the fashion management program, Bonnie in the legal administrative assistant program; and Stacey was accepted in the finance and credit management program.

Being chosen king and queen for our town during out nation’s bicentennial year is an honor, and our heartfelt congratulations go out to George Pooler and Martha Roach. Everyone knows of their earned merits. Eagle Bend will receive official recognition as a Bicentennial Community on Tuesday, May 18, when Lt. Governor Rudy Perpich presents the official certificate and Bicentennial Flag to this community at a ceremony at the high school auditorium.

The Eagle Bend Eagles won their ninth game in fourteen, last Monday, as they outscored the Browerville Tigers 12-1.
