A large family reunion was held August 10-12 at Solid Rock Bible Camp near Cushing when descendants of the Simar, Orr and Uptagrafft families gathered to renew acquaintances. According to Iris Chandler, Eagle Bend, a member of the Simar clan said, “We decided to call it the Cousins Reunion since nowadays there are spouses, children, and grandchildren of our respective ancestry attending.” There were 122 of them from four months old to 88 years old.

Thirty-two girls have been working hard this past week, despite the hot weather, to learn and perfect their volleyball skills.

The Eagle Bend News Office will be closed on Thursday and Friday this week. The office will be open 9-5 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
