In the absence of Eagle Bend’s Mayor Delvin Salathe and Acting Mayor Tim Notch, Brad Lorentz and Steve Weishair, of the city council, quickly appointed fellow Council Member Bruce Anderson to preside over the meeting. The longest discussion dealt with questions raised by local citizens about kids running the streets and cars roaring around all hours of the night. City Administrator Kevin Hess explained there is a curfew and Police Chief Dustin Alexander is doing a good job but can’t be there all the time. The council agreed to publish the ordinance so everyone is aware of the curfew.

The Royalton football team scored 21 points in the first seven minutes of the game and went on to defeat Eagle Valley 35-7 in a conference match-up. The second half found the Rebels moving the ball down the field. Eight plays and 65 yards later the Rebels had cut the score to 21-7. Josh Motl scored on an eight yard run. A key play in the drive was a 25 yard pass from Kassube to Motl to set up the touchdown.

A large crowd attend the Korn Fed U.S.A. benefit program for the Title VII Nutrition Program held on Saturday night at the Eagle Bend School. The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Miss Korn Fed U.S.A. who was Ms. Hammer Head. Ms. Freddie’s Special was selected Miss Congeniality and Ms. Heavy Chevy was Miss Runner-up.

The Eagle Bend volleyball team strengthened their win-loss record with their latest victories. Clarissa was unable to break the Eagle Spirit for ‘76.
