Standing on a hilltop east of Eagle Bend is the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Cemetery. Eagle Bend’s Memorial Day observances, conducted by the present-day veteran's organizations, are held at the GAR cemetery. It has a history that dates back to the American Civil War, the war between the north and the south that was fought from 1861-1865. It also may be the only cemetery in Todd County that had its origin as a veteran’s cemetery.
The Eagle Valley 1996 National Honor Society inductees included: Kelli Berg, Crystal Yates, Steph Nordquist, Carrie Supper, Vicki Supper, Judy Salcido, Alesha Murch, Arin Stoterau, Jeff Holmquist, Maija Wiltermuth, Neil Greenwaldt, Jill Pontius, Meghan Greene, Owen Prather and Jason Nelson.
