Report of girls being followed in Long Prairie
On July 11, the Bargain Barn in Long Prairie posted on their Facebook page:
“Safety Alert! There is a man in a white 4 door pickup truck, last 3 digits of license plate 314, trying to lure young girls into his truck. Description of man is tattoos up one arm, tattoo on eyelid, dark skin tone. He followed at least 2 girls yesterday from the school. They ducked into the Bargain Barn and he followed them in. He then left, but was waiting outside until he noticed he was being watched. These were smart girls. They were able to get a picture of him, part of his license plate, and law enforcement was notified. I have seen one other post on Facebook that something similar like this happened last week in I believe Upsala with a matching description of the truck.”
“Long Prairie Police were called to a report of a suspicious male, driving a white truck following a couple teenage girls. The truck has been identified. It has not yet been confirmed about similar reports in surrounding areas. At this point we are still investigating this incident,” said Long Prairie Police Chief Ryan Hanson.
