Strong Performances Lead Pirates at Pine Ridge Golf Course

The Verndale Pirate cross country team participated in the Ashby Brandon-Evansville meet on Tuesday, October 13, held at the Pine Ridge Golf Course. This was the last meet that the Elementary running crew was able to participate in. We had six youth run this one-mile course. Finishing first for the Pirates was Ella Enberg, who completed the course in 7 min 16 seconds, followed by Lexi Mayer, who finished in a time of 7 min 28 seconds. Sterling Dunn was the next Pirate to cross the finish line, having some contact with another runner near the beginning of the course. Sterling was able to finish the course in 7 minutes 52 seconds. Cyprien Tomperi was the next to cross the finish line, completing the course in 8 minutes. Duncan Ferris came next for the Pirates, finishing in 9 min 42 seconds. Chase Lamphere came next, completing the course in 10 min 32 seconds. These elementary runners did an excellent job!
A quick shout-out to the other elementary runners who were not able to participate in this final meet: Burklee Borash, Evelyn Mulek, Sylvia Mulek, and Brooklyn Brown. A special Thank You to Mrs. Annie Mathison-Valley and Ms. Amanda Suchy for working with the elementary runners this year. Congratulations to all those who participated. We look forward to having an elementary program again next year...
