Strong Showings from Verndale Pirates at Betha-Hewitt Invitational

On Tuesday, September 23rd, the Verndale Pirates cross country team competed in the Bertha-Hewitt Sports Booster Invitational, hosted at the Double Eagle Golf Course. It was a great day for a race on a fairly flat course, competing against 10 different teams from our area.

There were no JH runners for this race due to some new rules for the Minnesota State High School League. Running varsity for the girls included Heta Tervola-Hultberg, who finished with a time of 31 minutes and 52 seconds, Milauna Mensinger, who completed the course in 32 minutes and 08 seconds, Amiyah Herner, who finished the course in 37 minutes and 22 seconds, and Angelica Arroyo, who finished with a time of 26 minutes and 28 seconds.  Haylee Horn was not competing today...
