Tigers give a victorious roar

The Section 5A West playoffs began last week and Browerville/Eagle Valley came in as the #2 seed. Their first opponent was the #7 seed, Long Prairie/Grey Eagle who had defeated Sebeka in a Pigtail game.
The Tigers' defense was too much for the Thunder to handle in this one. In the first half, B/EV forced LPGE into 11 turnovers and contested shots. The boards were controlled by the Tigers which in turn helped control the tempo of the game.
While there were seven players who scored for the Tigers, they were led in scoring by Miguel Maloney who had 18 points. Reis Irsfeld and Parker Duncan also scored double digits with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Browerville/Eagle Valley had good control in the second half extending their lead to as many as 19 points. Then it was about game management and maintaining a lead. The Tigers coasted to a first-round playoff win by a final score of 56-39. . .
