Todd County Board of Commissioners: Discussion on run off issue

The commissioners engaged in discussion regarding erosion going across Emerald Trail into Big Swan Lake and the effects that is having on the lake quality.
Michael Legatt from the Big Swan Lake Association presented information about the runoff coming from the Hollerman farm.
Apparently, the issue has been going on since around 2018. The issue is that there is runoff coming from the east side to the west side of the road.
Legatt said he has been living there for 20 years and for the first 14 years or so there was no runoff problem. Now the area is in agriculture and the ditch is full.
Legatt said the only “buffer strip” now is his and a neighbor’s lawn.
There have been engineers out to the property and they know what should happen, but the lake association is wondering how the commissioners might help with the situation. . .
