Todd County Board of Commissioners: Levy and budget are approved—4% increase

The Todd County Board of Commissioners met on December 17 for a regular meeting.
At this meeting they approved a resolution to adopt the Final 2025 County Levy at $21,199,245 less program aids of $2,087,764 and less the use of fund balance of $300,000 therefore certifying the 2025 Final Todd County Local Levy at $18,811,481.
They also approved the 2025 county budget at a 4% increase. The $300,000 from the fund balance helped to keep the increase at 4%.
In other business:
• Approved a one-year on and off sale 3.2 Malt Liquor License for Don & Dave’s Store in Moran Township effective January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025.
• Approved a gambling permit for the Eagle Bend Area Community Development Corporation (Eagle Bend Fire Department Auxiliary) to hold a bingo event at the Clarissa Ballroom in Eagle Valley Township on April 13, 2025.
• Approved 2025 tobacco licenses for the following businesses: American Legion Oscar Jacobsen Post #417; City of Clarissa – Clarissa Municipal Liquor; Don and Dave’s Store - Staples; Eagle Valley Express – Clarissa; Jon’s Family Foods - Clarissa; Partridge Creek Blinds and More LLC - Bertha; Shady’s Golden Eagle - Burtrum; Shady’s Midway - Long Prairie; Shattuck’s Hub Supper Club – Burtrum; Sidewalks Saloon & Grill - West Union.
• Accepted the resignation of Soil and Water Resource Conservationist Tim Ebnet effective January 3, 2025.
• Hired Samuel Wicken as a part-time correctional officer with a start date to be determined (TBD).
• Hired Angela Schleicher to fill the open public health nurse position with a start date TBD.
• Hired Erin Schultz to fill the open Health and Human Services (HHS) care coordinator position with a start date TBD....
